LEED

LEED is one of the many facets of the Sustainability Movement and the benchmark for which "green" buildings are measured against. LEED is gradually becoming the standard for newly constructed and existing buildings. Additionally, LEED is expanding to incorporate commercial interiors, core and shell structures, residential, and neighbourhood developments. As a contractor, CANA Construction recognizes that sustainability is the future and understands the need to be involved in the "green" process.

CANA Construction is a member of the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) and is undertaking the responsibility of getting several of its employees LEED accredited. CANA Construction has completed numerous LEED projects. The Mount Royal Centre for Continuous Learning, SMART Technologies World Headquarters and the WestJet Office Campus are all LEED Gold Certified. In addition, the Flames Community Arenas are LEED Silver Certified and the Crowfoot Calgary Public Library is also certified. Current and pending LEED projects include the Calgary Courts Centre, the Taylor Family Digital Library, TELUS Spark, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, the National Music Centre and the Mount Royal Conservatory.
